HOW TO GET FREE HOME REPAIR ASSISTANCE
If you think you or someone you know would qualify for this program, please, review our requirements below. All of our services come at no cost to the homeowner.
Our general requirements:
- Must be a resident of Arlington County, Fairfax County, City of Falls Church or the City of Fairfax.
- Must own and live in the home to be repaired.
- Intend on remaining in your home for at least two years following the completed repairs.
- Total household income must not exceed limits listed on the application.
- Priority is given to seniors, persons with disabilities and vulnerable families with children.
- RPJ Housing also works on group homes, transitional housing and shelters operated by non-profit agencies.
Our Process
- Complete and submit an application along with required documentation to RPJ Housing. The application is available here (PDF).
- A staff member will set up a time to meet with you and assess the needed repairs.
- If your home is chosen as a suitable project for volunteers, your application will be placed on a waiting list until we are able to match your home with an appropriate volunteer group. Be advised that the matching process takes time.
- Once a volunteer group is identified, the team leader will work with you to schedule a work date and determine which repairs they will be able to complete.
- Our ultimate goal, is to allow you to remain in your home with a renewed sense of safety, security and pride.
